On December 14, 2017, four FFA Chapters participated in the fourth annual “FFA Quiz Bowl” hosted at NCHS and sponsored by the Young Leader Committees from Perry and Washington County Farm Bureaus.

Participating chapters included Nashville, Carlyle, Okawville and DuQuoin.

Each chapter was invited to bring two or three teams of three-to-five students to participate in the event.

Each team competed in two preliminary rounds before three teams advanced to the finals.

The winning teams were: First place, Nashville Team One, Second place – Carlyle Team One, and Third place –Nashville Team Two.

Students were asked multiple choice agriculture related questions with four possible answers.

The students then could buzz in with the correct answer to earn points for their team.

The questions that were asked included subjects such as Agriculture Safety, Agriculture Mechanics, Animal Science, Crop Production, FFA Natural Recourses and Agriculture Issues/Current Events.

In between, pizza, snacks and drinks, members had the opportunity to become more familiar with the Farm Bureau and their respective Young Leader Committee members.

Students and advisors also received a t-shirt for participating in the event.
