Summer Concerts, held at Memorial Park since the renovation of the Washington County Courthouse began, will be returning to the Courthouse lawn for 2018.

Now that Shakespeare in the Park is done (see page A6), the Washington County Arts Council is moving on to their next big thing, 2018’s summer concert series! After a hiatus of a few years at Memorial Park, the concerts will be returning to the Courthouse Lawn.
The shows start on Thursday, May 31 at 6 p.m., when Kaskaskia River Brass will be playing. Each show will begin at 6 p.m. (except for the July 4 concert). All the concerts are free, but seating is limited, so bring your own lawn chair or a blanket to sit on.
There is also free popcorn, lemonade, tea and water at each concert (along with other special treats, occasionally).
Other concerts in the series include:
Dave Hylla and Good Time Polka, June 7
Lost and Found/Hey Augustine, June 14
Twilight Band, June 21
George Portz and Blue Grass Friends, June 28
County Road Cruizers, Wednesday, July 4, at Memorial Park, 7 p.m.
Roaming Home, July 12
Threshermen, July 19
