It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner! The 2017-2018 school year is flying by and things are getting extremely busy here at school. Please find some important updates and reminders for Nashville #49 listed below:

Nashville #49 would like to thank Judges Dan Emge and Heinz Rudolph for taking time out of their extremely busy schedules to visit our school on October 30. Both judges spoke with our middle school students about the dangers of illegal drugs, abusing prescription drugs, addiction, making the right choices, and legal issues that pertain to drug abuse.

At the beginning of the school year, Judge Emge and numerous other presenters discussed “The Heroin Project” with staff members from our district as well as Nashville High School District #99 staff members.

Additionally, we have several other activities planned for our students to proactively address the current drug abuse crisis that is affecting our region, our state, and our nation.

Once again, Nashville #49 would like to thank Judge Emge and Judge Rudolph for taking time to speak with our students. We greatly appreciate it!

Each November, Illinois acknowledges school board members from around the state and recognizes their service to their communities. As you may know, November 15 is designated as “School Board Member Day” here in Illinois. We are very fortunate to have seven outstanding board members here at Nashville #49 who volunteer their time to help our school and the children that we serve.

Our district is very fortunate to have outstanding facilities and programs and we would not have those things without the dedication and support of current and past school board members. Our current Board of Education includes Dave Engele, Shawn Knepp, Ric Jones, Janine Pieszchalski, Danny Dlubala, Greg Gollaher, and Seth Swoboda.

Nashville #49 would like to thank all of our school board members for their service to the district!
