Activities over the past month for the Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) at St. Ann Church of Nashville included TOP, a raffle for a car, a field trip including a visit to an Escape Room, BELOW, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt, BOTTOM.
The last month has been a very busy one for the members of St. Ann’s Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM).
The group held their annual Easter egg hunt was held at St. Ann Church on Saturday March 24, just before Palm Sunday.
The CYM members hosted the hunt, running the event for the younger kids of the parish and community, and even got some time with the Easter Bunny themselves.
Next, the St. Ann CYM took a field trip to the Chittyville Escape Room in Herrin – part of a field trip further into southern Illinois, which included a visited to the Newman Catholic Student Center in Carbondale to attend Mass.
Next was lunch was at the nearby restaurant, Italian Village. The day’s adventure ended with the escape room.
Finally, the CYM had been selling raffle tickets for a prize of a 1994 Chevy Caprice that had been graciously donated to the group by Ed Paskiewicz, in memory of his late wife Laura.
CYM was planning on selling the tickets through the end of June, but only 400 were available in total, and they all were sold within 45 days, so the drawing was held on Sunday, April 22, right after morning mass at St. Ann church.
When the winning card was selected, the name on it was Vaughn Vallett, owner and operator of Si Vallett car dealership.
After the car was received through an act of generosity from Mr. Paskiewicz, the CYM was again blessed, when Vallett told them that he planned to sell the vehicle at his dealership and donate all of the proceeds back to the youth group.
