NCHS, OHS Make Donations To Relay For Life

On Saturday, January 6, student council members from both Nashville High School and Okawville High School collected donations for the Washington County Relay for Life during the Nashville-Okawville Varsity Boys Basketball game.

They collected a total of $1,442.47 between the first and second quarter of the game.

Also during the evening, Kolby Bowers, an Okawville student fighting brain cancer, was honored at half-time.

This week, representatives from the Washington County Relay for Life Committee accepted checks from student council members, including money from the annual “Shoot for a Cure” t-shirt sales.

In total, $2,190.35 went to help Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society’s mission to prevent cancer and celebrate life.
