NCHS Board Approves Consulting Agreement For Superintendent Search
By Alex Haglund
The Nashville Community High School Board met for the regular monthly meeting for November on the evening of Monday, November 20.
Following the meeting’s closed session, the board voted to enter into a consulting agreement with Kevin Rench and Dennis Fancher to aid the district in the selection of a new, permanent District Superintendent.
The Superintendent’s post was left vacant after the departure of Ernie Fowler. Currently, Tom Hawkins is serving as the District’s interim superintendent.
At the meeting held on Monday, October 16, the board heard from Jim Helton of the Illinois School Board Association’s executive search, the service the district used to find and hire Fowler in 2014.
The board elected not to utilize that service for this search, instead going to Rench and Fancher, who have local ties.
More details from the November 20 meeting, including details of the consulting agreement, will be in the November 29 edition of The Nashville News.
