Saturday, May 5, eight Nashville Middle School band students were selected to compete at Illinois Grade School Music Association District 4 State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Carbondale.
These students competed at District competition back in March this year and scored high enough on their solos to qualify for State contest.
To qualify for State, students must perform a solo at District contest that is graded A, B, or C (harder solos) and they must receive at 1st place rating.
NMS took nine solo entries to State contest. Five solos received a first place rating, and four received a first Superior (perfect score, highest possible) rating!
Congratulations to Nashville Middle School’s fine musicians!
