Frances Boruff

Mrs. Frances L. Boruff of Okawville, departed this life surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 9 P.M. following a courageous battle against cancer. She had attained the age of 81 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Frances was born in Joy, on January 27, 1936 the daughter of Floyd and Lula Mae (nee McCormick) Duncan. She was united in marriage to Rodney Boruff at her parent’s home in Millersburg, on May 23, 1953, and he survives her passing.

Frances was a homemaker and school bus driver for the West Washington County Unit School District in Okawville. She also did taxidermy work. Previously she had worked as a seamstress at Form Fit in Monmouth. She was a member of the St. Peter United Church of Christ in Okawville and was a former member of the Okawville Community Club. Frances loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, searching for mushrooms and gardening. She was an accomplished water skier even though she could not swim. She also enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader and she especially loved her dogs.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband of nearly 65 years, Rodney Boruff of Okawville; four children, Rick Boruff and wife Lori of Aledo, Shelly Oltmann and husband Brad of Nashville, Shannon Boruff and wife Stacey of Bartelso, and Shawna Reed and husband Robert of Kenton, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Rye Alan Boruff, Rusty Lee Boruff and wife Brook, Nicholas Stine, Christopher Stine, Coty Boruff, Dalton Boruff, Cassidy Mueting and husband Nathan and Novella Cowan; five step grandchildren, Paige and Karlee Oltmann, Mary Beth Riley and husband Jimmy, and Erin and David Reed; six great grandchildren, Tannen, Ezekiel, Noah, Charlie, Nicolas and Oliver; a sister-in-law, Janice Duncan of Aledo; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Duncan and three sisters, June Locke, Violet Locke and Betty Larson.
In accordance with the wishes of Frances and her family, cremation was performed.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 3 P.M. until 6 P.M. immediately followed by a memorial prayer service at 6 P.M. conducted by Pastor Jeffrey Schwab.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family Hospice of Belleville or to the Clinton County Humane Society and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
