Orville Wacker

Orville Edwin Wacker, 82, of Richview, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on June 9, 1934 in Richview, the son of Julius and Laura R. (Hake) Wacker. He married Ruth McWorthy in August of 1958 in St. Louis, she preceded him in death on January 4, 2002.

Mr. Wacker is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn Hanke, and Rita Hilscher and husband Bill, all of Richview, as well as four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister, Sylvia Herzog of Champaign, and special friend of 14 years, Mary Schroeder of Richview.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Mr. Wacker was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law.

Mr. Wacker was a member of the Irvington United Methodist Church in Irvington. He was a 50 plus year member of the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219 in Centralia. He was a member of the Centralia Elks BPOE Lodge 493. Mr. Wacker was a member of the former Masonic Lodge in Ashley, the Centralia Shrine Club, the Jefferson County Shrine Club in Mt. Vernon, and the Ainad Shriners Temple in East St. Louis.

Mr. Wacker was a life-long farmer who owned and operated the Wacker Hog and Grain in Richview.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, with Pastor Anita Munden officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the funeral home.

Masonic Services will be accorded by the Centralia Masonic Lodge 201 A.F. & A.M. at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, followed by a Shriners Walk-Through at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wacker‘s honor to the American Heart Association or Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia.
