Paul Joseph Kiselewski, 88, of Waltonville, passed away at 5:40 P.M. February 13, 2018 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born August 10, 1929 in Scheller, to Frank and Tillie (Broviak) Kiselewski. He married his high school sweetheart, Cloena Mannen on March 26, 1951 in Mount Vernon, and she survives in Waltonville.
Along with his wife of 66 years, Mr. Kiselewski is survived by his two sons, Jeff Kiselewski of Scheller, and Gary Kiselewski and wife, Tracy of Waltonville; three daughters, Catherine Gajewski and husband, Edwin of Scheller, Renee Drew and husband, Dewayne of Waltonville, and Peggy Kiselewski of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Chris Lueking, Eric Gajewski, Jeremy Gajewski, Blake Kiselewski, Dalton Kiselewski, Megan Kiselewski, Beth Kiselewski; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorene Kabat and Genevieve Gill and husband, Bud; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley.
Mr. Kiselewski was a lifelong farmer, making it a goal to preserve the land for the future and worked as a coal miner for 29 years at Freeman #6 Coal Mine. He was a member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for over 70 years. He was an Elk Prairie Township Trustee for over 40 years. He was an Honorary Member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 4476 of Dubois Knights of Columbus 4th Degree DuQuoin Assembly, and United Mine Workers of America Local 1591.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Hughey-Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 P.M.
Funeral Mass will be performed at 10 A.M., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, with Father John Iffert officiating.
Interment will be at Maple HIll Cemetery in Sesser.
