Letter: Trespassing, Tree-Trimming, Without Apology

On February 20, 2017, at approximately 1 pm, we discovered that contract employees of Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) had cut a 20 yard by 150 yard swath from the Northeast edge of our property.

The salient fact in this matter is that no permission was secured.

We immediately ordered the tree trimming crew from our property and contacted the emergency contact number since it was a holiday.

We have spoken to the TCEC Board of Directors, General Manager Marcia Scott, and Ben Ceglinski Forestry Supervisor. I have granted permission to complete the cut and the tree trimming has been completed.

The second salient fact in this matter is that at no time has an admission of fault or an apology been offered.

In summation, property owners beware, Tri-County Electric Cooperative tree trimming will come onto your private property, cut your trees, all without permission.

Oh, by the way, they will perform this trespass without so much as we’re sorry.
