Mr. Paul Bochantin of Nashville departed this life at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:18 p.m. He had attained the age of 79 years, two months and two days.
Mr. Bochantin was born on December 19, 1935 in Nashville, the son of Henry and Antonia (Labuda) Bochantin. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Loos on September 23, 1967 at St. Bruno’s Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, and she survives his passing.
Paul was a member of the United States Army. He worked as a coalminer for Peabody Coal Company for 20 years and also at Waste Management and Barr Disposal for several years. He later became the Janitor at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville. Paul was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville. He enjoyed farming and fishing and he loved his grandchildren.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Rosemary Bochantin of Nashville; son, Brian Bochantin and his wife Denice of Freeland, Wash.; daughter, Renee Paul and her husband Gregory of Keller, Texas; five grandchildren, Mason, Garret and Brady Paul and Arya and Riddick Bochantin; sister, Irene Rooneo of Austin, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leo, Marion and Max Bochantin; and one sister, Angeline Liszewski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville on Friday, February 27 at 10 A.M. with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating and with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Should friends desire mass offerings and memorials can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
