Dorothy (Abigail Hall), the Tin Woodman (Dominik Cloud), and the Scarecrow (Samuel Polczynski), are off to see the wizard this weekend with the NCHS Drama Club Production of “The Wizard of Oz”.

It won’t take a tornado to take audiences to the Emerald City this weekend when the Nashville Community High School Drama Club will be presenting their production of “The Wizard of Oz,” with performances on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, April 26, at 5 p.m.

The play is based off of the classic novel by Frank L. Baum, with the adaptation written by R. Eugene Jackson. The production is directed by NCHS art teacher and Drama Club sponsor Danielle Schulz, with English teacher Jenny Olsen acting as assistant director.

Dorothy, a little girl from Kansas, finds herself in the mysterious land of Oz, where she encounters Munchkins, Winkies, good and wicked witches, a wizard and more.

Through Dorothy’s friendship with the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion, she is able to make her way home and help her friends in the process.

Drama Club students have been rehearsing and preparing for this production since January and are excited to bring it to life on the stage.

The cost to attend the show is $4 per person in advance or $5 at the door. Tickets can be purchased through any Drama Club member or through Schulz, who can be reached at (618) 327-8286, extension 331.
