Gary Small

Gary Robert Small, 54, of Nashville, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on August 30, 1961 in Pinckneyville, the son of Dale and Betty Lou Ramsey Small.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Left to mourn his passing is his mother, Betty Owens of Nashville; two sons, Jacob Robert Small of Bloomington and Mitchell John Small of Chicago; a daughter; Stephany Sue Small of Chicago; a brother, Rodney (Leslie) Small of Nashville and a sister, Patricia (Bill) Baker of Nashville.

Gary had a Masters Degree in Health Care Management from Sangamon State University in Springfield. He was formerly a hospital administrator in Farmington, Mo. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of the Nashville American Legion Post #110, Washington County Sportsman’s Club and the First Baptist Church in Nashville.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. There will be a Memorial Gathering from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scout Troop #127 where Gary received his Eagle Scout award.
