Theodore Matecki

Theodore Matecki of Belleville passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home, having attained the age of 90 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Born on September 9, 1925 in Posen, he was the son of Sylvester and Rose Matecki, nee Ryterski. He was united in marriage to Angeline Kryger on August 26, 1950 at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Mr. Matecki was a carpenter, a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and a member of East St. Louis Carpenter’s Local and St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Gertrude (Chester) Lewandowski.

Surviving are his wife, Angeline Matecki of Belleville; his children, Brian (JoLynn) Matecki, Rick Matecki, both of Millstadt, Alan Matecki, Jeff (Shawn) Matecki, both of Ashley, and Eric Matecki of Belleville; his grandchildren, Andrew Matecki, Tim (Cristin McManemy) Matecki, Anthony (Michelle) Matecki, Mitchell (Emily) Matecki, all of Millstadt, Lucas Matecki, Austin Matecki and Dustin Matecki, all of Ashley; his great-grandchildren, Leah Matecki, Sawyer Matecki, Chase Matecki and Jack Matecki, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 24, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, and on Thursday, August 25, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, at 4:00 P.M., at the funeral home.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Radom.

P
