Mr. David “Boch” Bochantin of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 5:32 P.M. He had attained the age of 62 years 4 months and 22 days.

Dave was born on July 1, 1954 in Centralia, IL the son of Leo and Irene (Rooneo) Bochantin.

Dave worked at Nascote Industries in Nashville, IL for 29 years and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. He joined the Nashville Community Fire Protection District as a firefighter on February 6, 1986 and was appointed to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief on April 7, 1994. He was a member of the Washington Lodge #55 AF & AM and the National Rifle Association. Boch enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and boating.

Left to mourn his passing is his son, Eric Bochantin and wife Casey of Nashville; two grandchildren, Griffin and Estes Bochantin; stepdaughter, Jody Grawe and husband Brent of Bartelso; stepson, Erik Schuetz of New Baden; three stepgrandchildren, Barret, Brynlee and Briggs Grawe; a sister, Carol Laxton of Nashville and her daughters, Karri Greten and husband Josh of Lively Grove and JoLynn Tucker and her husband Jason of St. Rose; a brother, Michael Bochantin of Mt. Vernon and his daughter, Shannon Funk and husband Gary of Venedy; other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Scott Schuetz.

Per the wishes of Dave and his family, cremation was performed and a celebration of life service will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Dale Bartels officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery in Radom, IL.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Washington County Relay for Life and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
