My name is Tony Mayville and today I am announcing my intention to run as a Democrat to be the House of Representatives member from the 115th House District.

I live in the Du Bois area and have been there for the past 30 years. I live with my wife of the past 38 years, Charlotte.

We have two married adult children and three grandchildren.

I am currently employed as the Director of Mine Safety and Enforcement for the State of Illinois.

During my ten years of employment with the State of Illinois I have served as Director of State Parks, Executive Director of the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, and Director of Mine Safety and Enforcement.

Prior to coming to state government I worked twenty eight years in seven underground coal mines in southern Illinois. I am and will always be a coal miner in my heart.

Last year I was honored with the opportunity to be appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor at Mine Safety and Health Administration, I worked for the Assistant Secretary and I was over policy for all miners in the United States, family illness required a move back to Illinois.

I have been the supervisor over several very large budgets in my career and have never gone over budget, I think government should live within a balanced budget.

I have been the elected Democratic County Chairman in Washington County for the past twenty three years.

I have been endorsed by the Democrat Central Committees of Jefferson, Washington, Perry, and Union Counties and their Chairmen. Jackson County is the only county in the district that hasn't endorsed me and they do not endorse as a policy. I have a great team of supporters from Jackson County.

I would appreciate people taking a serious look at this race and consider voting for Tony Mayville for 115th District State Representative.
