Just have to mention a positive for the state police. Usually no one likes seeing a state police arrive, but in our case we were blessed as we had a flat tire in Iowa on our way to Minnesota. Make a long story short, state police arrived and she offered to change our tire for us, which she did and wished us a good time at the Polka Party. As my daughter texts, yeehaw! Woman power.
The hot dry weather curtailed lawn mowing. Some are watering their gardens and landscaping.
Norman and Rosemary Koenigstein visited at the home of Stanley & Ora Mae Droege Tuesday evening.
Those of you who use your cell phone while driving may want to start weaning themselves. Gov. Quinn just signed a law making it illegal to talk on a hand held phone while driving starting January 1st. Drivers can still make calls as long as they are made hands free.
The Country and Western band will be at the Okawville Senior Center Thursday Sept 12th 10:30 to 2 p.m. You need to make reservations.
