Sheriff’s Report

November 6

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department assisted motorist Amber Hardesty, 34, of Lebanon Junction, Ky., on Interstate 64, near mile marker 41.

The Sheriff’s Dept. arrested Richard W. Warren, 66, of Centralia, for no valid drivers license, and issued a verbal warning for no signal when required and no flag displayed on an oversized load.

November 7

The Washington County Sheriff’s Dept. responded to a report of an abandoned automobile on S. Grand Rd., near Geisel Lane, in rural Nashville.

The Sheriff’s Dept. received a report of a car versus deer crash on I-64.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to a two-vehicle crash on St. Rt. 127, north of Sassafras Rd. A vehicle driven by Ralph Dawson, 58, of Secor, struck a disabled vehicle. Dawson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

November 10

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to a report of a traffic crash on St. Louis St. at Main St. in Hoyleton. Justin L. Keef, 22, of Walnut Hill, was subsequently arrested for DUI and was cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The Sheriff’s Dept. reported a motorist assist on Rt. 15, west of Ashley.

November 11

Shane M. Whipple, 37, of Harvard, was arrested on a Washington County warrant.

November 13

Deputies responded to a traffic accident on I-64. The crash was handled by Illinois State Police.

A deputy returned a phone call to an Ashley resident regarding an attempted scam.

The Sheriff’s Department arrested Steven P. Koepke, 51, of Okawville, on a Washington County Probation Warrant. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe.

The Sheriff’s Dept. assisted a motorist on I-64 westbound at the 46 mile marker.

The Sheriff’s Dept. assisted a motorist on I-64 eastbound at the 49 mile marker.

November 14

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to a rural Hoyleton residence in reference to a domestic trouble complaint.

The Sheriff’s Dept. took a report of a burglary occurring at a residence in rural Ashley.

A deputy assisted a motorist on St. Rt. 15 near Co. Hwy. 17.

November 15

Dustin Woodside, 33, of Coulterville, was traveling south on St. Rt. 153 approaching Honeysuckle Rd., when his vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Woodside was not injured in the accident.

The Sheriff’s Dept. received a fraud complaint from a rural Ashley resident. The resident reported that an unauthorized debit card transaction for fuel had been made in Houston, Texas.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to Co. Hwy. 24, north of Hoyleton, for a report of cattle in the roadway.

November 16

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to a rural Addieville residence, in reference to a criminal damage to property complaint. The resident reported that at approximately 11 p.m. on Nov. 15, a vehicle was driven through the front yard of the residence, causing damage.

November 17

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a verbal dispute in rural Coulterville. Richard D. Simmons, 32, of rural Coulterville was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant.
