Lori and Karianne Schnitker.
A new fun-filled event is coming to the Hoyleton Hofbraufest thanks to Lori and Karianne Schnitker. Seeing a need for a group activity, these two community-minded ladies laid the plans for a bracketed sand volleyball tourney.
A co-ed 8 team tournament and a 4 team round robin tournament for girls ages 12 -18 (high school) is being organized. The co-ed tournament entry fee is $100 and teams can play up to 6 persons with an even amount of guys and girls or more girls for players. The round robin entry fee is $75 for a 6 person team.
The events will begin on Friday, July 6 with the co-ed teams at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 7 will kick off the round robin. A grassy area for spectators is being set aside. Please contact Karianne (618-246-4644) or Lori (618-559-8935) for any additional information.
The Hoyleton Community Club is sponsoring its 50th Annual Hofbraufest this July 6, 7, 8 in the Village park. A schedule of events offering something for everyone is planned. Our renown fried and smoked chicken dinner will be served in the air conditioned hall on Sunday, July 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Hoyleton Lions elected their officers for the upcoming year. Tim Schnitker will serve as President, with Craig Suedmeyer serving as Club Secretary. John Harris was elected to treasurer. The Lions are readying a decorated wagon for the Hofbraufest parade.
