State’s Attorney Presents Check To Okawville Police Department At December Village Board Meeting

The Okawville Village Board met on the evening of Tuesday, December 26 for their regular monthly meeting.

To begin the meeting, State’s Attorney Dan Bronke presented a $2,000 check to Okawville Police Chief Steve Millikin.

The check is to be used for traffic-related purchases, such as hardware in the squad cars.

The board approved the reappointment of Bruce Barkau, Tom Heck, and Scott Cragen to five-year terms on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The board approved a $500 donation to the library.

The board approved a contract from Fabick to lease a new skidsteer for $85.70 per month for two years.

The board passed Ordinance No. 548 amending Chapter 11 Section 3 of the Village Code regarding sexual harassment.

The board approved to outsource the water and sewer duties requiring licensures until further notice.

Sarah Deterding, Police Committee Chairperson, stated that Shop with a Cop held on December 9, was a success.

The village received $1,277.32 in fines from the circuit clerk this month.

The village received $3,232.50 from the video gaming receipts this month.
