Seventh grader Kaden Linkey has advanced to the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Shooting Championship.
Linkey, age 12, began his journey at the Knights of Columbus local level competition held at St. Ann where he sank 12 of 15 free throw attempts. He then advanced to the Regional Competition held at Mater Dei where he splashed an incredible 22 of 25 free throws earning him the chance to go for the state title.
So far he has won a couple medals, a KC jacket patch and a certificate. But he is really looking forward to the opportunity of earning a trophy for his shooting prowess at the state level.
“I am extremely excited,” stated Linkey, “and I hope can represent my school, community and the Knights of Columbus in Washington County well.”
Linkey is set to compete Saturday, April 7 in Chatham, Illinois at the local high school. Congratulations to Kaden and best of luck in the finals.
