The Nashville Hornets track squad rounded out the season, by handing out their end of the season awards. The Hornets handed out two Hornet Awards, the Most Valuable Field Athlete Award, the Most Valuable Runner Award, and the Most Valuable Player Award. This past season, the Hornets took home the Jared Morris Invitational title, as well as the IHSA Class 1A Sparta Sectional Championship.
Junior Brandon Schnitker brought home two awards, as he was named the Most Valuable Runner, and the Most Valuable Team Member. Schnitker finished second at the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet in the 800M run, and broke the school record in the process. Schnitker finished the IHSA Class 1A State Finals of the 800M Run with a time of 1:53.53.
The Hornet Awards were given out to Caleb Zgonina and Landon Davis. Zgonina and Davis were each named All-South this season. Zgonina was named All-South as a part of the 4X400M Relay. Davis was named All South as a distance runner this season.
Daymeon Baugh was named as the Most Valuable Field Athlete this past season. Baugh competed in Long Jump and Triple Jump this season for Nashville.
Gavin Love was named the Rookie of the Year for the Hornets this past season. Love was a part of the 4X800m Relay team that finished 12th place at the IHSA Class 1A Boys Track State Finals. Love also ran the 1600m run for the Hornets this past season.
