The NCHS Girls Golf team won both of their matches this week, as they defeated Herrin, Carbondale, and Anna-Jonesboro on September 5 before defeating Mater Dei and Central on September 6.
In their first match of the week, the Hornettes traveled down to Herrin to take on Carbondale, Herrin, and Anna-Jonesboro in a four-team match. The Hornettes easily took the win in the match, finishing with a score of 166. The next closest team was Anna-Jonesboro who finished the match with a 186. Herrin finished with a 202. Carbondale did not record a team score.
Nashville was led by Rachael Kell, who was the top overall finisher in the match with a 36. Brooke Bartling shot a 41, followed by Hope Rueter with a 43. Jordan Stiegman shot a 46 in the match. Hannah Harris shot a 51 and Rylee White finished with a 61.
The Hornettes were back in action on September 6 as they returned home to face Central and Mater Dei. Nashville again came away with a victory as they finished with a score of 177 well ahead of both the Lady Cougars, and the Lady Knights. Central took second in the match with a score of 213, while Mater Dei took third with a score of 228.
Nashville was led in the match by Rueter and Bartling who each finished with a 42. Kell shot a 44 on the afternoon, while Stiegman turned in a 49. Sydney Gordon shot a 51, while Rylee Luechtefeld shot a 55.
The Hornettes are back in action in the Belleville East Tournament on September 14.
