Jr. Hornettes Lose Two Of Three

The Nashville Jr. Hornettes volleyball team A-team lost two of their three match ups this week as they lost to Okawville and Pinckneyville before beating Chester.
The Jr. Hornettes began their week by taking on Okawville on February 27. The Jr. Hornettes A-team lost their matchup, losing the first game 25-14, and dropping the second game 25-18. Reagen Burke and Whitley Hunter finished with two aces apiece. Hunter also led Nashville with two kills.
In the B-team matchup the Jr. Hornettes lost a tough three game matchup. Okawville took the first game 25-17, but Nashville bounced back for a 25-15 win in game two. In the third game, Nashville suffered a tough 16-14 loss. Ryan Stiegman led the team with four aces, while Emme Paszkiewicz finished with four kills in the loss.
In the C-team matchup, the Jr. Hornettes again suffered a three game loss. In the first game, Okawville grabbed a 25-12 win before dropping the second game 25-23. In game three, Okawville took the match win with a 15-9 victory. Daci Finke and Baylie Newman each finished with one kill, while Jill Kuhl finished with four aces.
The Jr. Hornettes were back in action on February 28 against Pinckneyville. The A-Team dropped a two game contest 25-11, 25-15. Hunter led the team with two aces, and tied for the team lead, along with Paszkiewicz with one kill.
The B-team also lost in two games, as they dropped a close game one 25-21, and dropped game two 25-15. Paszkiewicz led the team with three kills, while Stiegman led the team with three aces.
The C-team split two games with Pinckneyville. In game one, Nashville came away with a 27-25 victory. Nashville dropped game two 10-4. Finke led the team with one kill, and tied with Valerie Combs with three aces in the match.
Nashville started off March with a matchup against Chester on March 2. The A-team bounced back from losses to Pinckneyville and Okawville to defeat Chester in two games. The A-team won game one 25-15 before taking game two 25-16. Hunter led the team with one block, and tied for the team lead along with Hanah Grzegorek with three kills. Ashlyn Frazier led the team with three aces.
The B-team suffered a tough three game loss. The Jr. Hornettes won game one 25-15 before dropping the last two games of the match 25-23, and 15-12. Paszkiewicz finished with five kills to lead Nashville, while Hope Liszewski and Daphne Kollbaum each finished with three kills.
The C-team began March with a three game win over Chester. The Jr. Hornettes took a 25-21 win in game one, before dropping game two 21-16. Nashville took game three 19-14. Liszewski, Finke and Combs each had four aces in the win. Newman finished with two kills.
