The St. Ann Saints picked up a win this past week as they defeated Ashley 42-17 at home on November 2.
The Saints took the lead in the first quarter, and continued to hold the lead throughout. St. Ann took an 8-3 lead after the first quarter of play, as Tommy Herzog led the Saints with three points in the frame. Ashley’s only points of the first would come from a three pointer by Lane Rollie. St. Ann would continue to lead through the second, as Kaden Linkey scored eight of his ten points in the second quarter to help the Saints to a 21-7 halftime lead.
After halftime, St. Ann again was able to extend their lead as they outscored Ashley 11-3 to take a 32-10 lead into the final quarter of play. St. Ann got four points apiece from both Herzog and Harrison Zgonina in the quarter. Thaddeus Zgonina scored Ashley’s lone three points in the third quarter.
In the fourth, St. Ann was able to put the game away and go on for the 42-17 win.
St. Ann was led by Herzog who finished with 13 points. Linkey scored 10 points for the Saints, followed by Harrison Zgonina with six points. Evan Kujawa and Thomas Wojtowicz each scored four points, while Anderson added three points. Bryce Wojtowicz scored two points in the win.
Ashley was led by Thaddeus Zgonina with 11 points. Lane Rollie scored three points, followed by Trey Payne with two points. Austin Goldsmith scored one point for Ashley in the loss.
