TSJ/ILS Titans Open Season

The TSJ/ILS Titans finished fourth in the St. Mary’s Centralia Tournament. First Row:  Lucas Wajtowicz, Levi Traub, Dillon Teter, Parker Renken, Evan Perry, Dakota Bannert, Gaeb Kurtz, Connor Davis.  Second Row:  Coach Jim McGranahan, Owen Dunn, Jack Kroeger, Dominic Perry, John Blumhorst, Kendall Vallett, and Coach Ryan Blumhorst.

The Trinity St. John/Immanuel Lutheran Titans opened the season on October 26 against Willow Grove.  The team started out slow only scoring nine points in the first half but rallied back in the second half scoring 23 points.  The team came up a little short at the end losing to Willow Grove by a score of 38-32.  Dillon Teter led the scoring with 18 points, Dominic Perry scored four, Levi Traub and Jack Kroeger with three points each, Kendall Vallett and Owen Dunn both scored two points.

TSJ/ILS Titans were also active this past week in the St. Mary’s Centralia Tournament.  Our first match up was on October 31 against Trinity Hoyleton.  The team played well and were able to outscore Hoyleton 37-9.  Leading the scoring for the Titans were Vallett and D. Perry both with eight points, Teter with six, Evan Perry put in three, Traub, Parker Renken, Lucas Wajtowicz, Kroeger and Owen Dunn all contributing two points each.

The second game of the tournament on November 2 was against Sandoval.  The team was overpowered by the quickness of Sandoval beating the Titans by a score of 49-29.  Leading the scoring for the team was Vaughn with 12 points, John Blumhorst had five, Teter with four, Dunn, D. Perry, Kroeger, and E.Perry all adding two points each.

The Titans played on November 3 against Irvington for the 3rd/4th place matchup.  The team stayed with Irvington the first half of the game but Irvington pulled ahead in the second half to beat the Titans with a score of 31-21.  Leading scorer for the Titans was Vallett with seven, Teter putting in sixth, Traub and Kroeger both adding four.  The Titans took home the fourth place trophy from the St. Mary’s Tournament.  Kendal Vallet was honored by being selected to the St. Mary’s Tournament All-Tournament Team.
