On April 22, the Nashville Middle School 5th grade wrapped up their Adopt-a-Pilot class with a field trip to the Southern Illinois Airport and the SIUC Aviation facilities. The students toured the airport, looked at airplanes and got to fly a flight simulator. Southwest Pilot and SIU Alum John Hallock accompanied the students.
The 4X400m Relay team of Kiley Heidel, Korbi Rhine, Hailey Baugh, and Jordan Donato received fifth place at the SIJHSAA Class S State Track Meet which was held on Saturday May 13, at Tri-M Elementary School in Carterville. Baugh also received a medal in the 800m run. Baugh finished fourth with a time of 2:35.18.
