The National Active and Retired Employees met on November 21, 2016 at Ryan’s Restaurant in Mt. Vernon.

Our speaker was Ella York, a representative from the Office of the Attorney General, State of Illinois.

She talked about the scams that seniors are dealing with such as never carrying your original Social Security card on you.

Make a copy of it and black out the last four numbers. You keep the original at home.

You do the same for your Medicare card. Never carry your checkbook with you. In case someone steals your purse, they can get all kinds of information about you.

Our next meeting will be December 19, 2016 with the NARFE members receiving a free dinner and the “No Doubt Quartet” singing Christmas Song.

For more information about Ella York, you may contact her at 618-529-6489 or her email is eyork@atg.state.il.us.

The No Doubt Quartet is part of the Harmony Roses Chorus which is part of the official chapter of Sweet Adelines International. You may contact them at harmonyroseschorus@gmail.com or call 618-246-4701 or 618-204-9081.
