What’s happening?
Police are searching for a woman and two men after a frightening home invasion in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx. Surveillance video shows at least two of them wearing Amazon vests and carrying Amazon boxes as they approached the building.
The victims are a mother and son. Police said the son was visiting his mother when the robbers struck. EMS treated both of them at the scene for minor injuries.
Where and when?
The robbery happened around 11:15 AM on Tuesday, November 3, inside a residential building near Bainbridge Avenue and East 199th Street.
According to law enforcement sources, the doorbell rang and the victims went to answer it, thinking it was someone they knew. When they opened the door, the three suspects pushed their way inside. One man displayed a firearm while the others took the victims’ phones, credit cards, personal items and cash. Police have not released the exact amount of cash taken, though some posts online put it at just $24.
Before leaving, the robbers zip-tied the mother and son by their hands and feet. They fled on foot, heading north on Bainbridge Avenue.

Who are police looking for?
Police described the group as one woman and two men. The woman was last seen wearing an Amazon employee vest, a black hat, black pants, black boots, black gloves and black glasses. One man also wore an Amazon vest with a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes. The third man was dressed in all black, including a black hooded sweatshirt with a white logo.
Images released by the NYPD show the suspects walking down a sidewalk near the building, two of them holding delivery boxes.
What should you do?
Delivery disguises are an increasingly common trick in home invasions. Police advise residents, especially older adults, not to open the door for unexpected deliveries. Ask drivers to leave packages at the door or in the lobby, use a peephole or doorbell camera, and call the delivery company directly if something feels off.
Families with elderly relatives living alone may want to set up a simple rule: never open the door to anyone you were not expecting.
What comes next?
The NYPD investigation is ongoing. Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS, or 1-888-57-PISTA for Spanish. Tips can also be submitted online or by text, and all calls are kept confidential.
