According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, a large group gathered near the park’s skatepark after hours for a birthday party. Sheriff David Davis said the group had earlier been at an Airbnb in Jones County before moving to the park. A second group arrived, words were exchanged, firearms were displayed, and both sides opened fire.
Where and when?
Deputies responded to Carolyn Crayton Park around 12:06 AM on Sunday, September 27. Shell casings were later marked across the skatepark parking lot.
